Actually the title of this blog entry is a bit misleading as the wine bottle was the only non-edible part of the cake!
This cake was made with love for a family birthday this weekend. It was dark chocolate mud cake inside and all the decorations were made with fondant. I think it ended up looking fairly realistic! As usual I had a lot of fun trying out new techniques.
Different sized leaf cutters/embossers:
A wood grain embossing rolling pin for the sides of the ‘wooden box’:
And an edible pen (I love the real handwriting touch it added to the cake):
Making the fondant fold up to look like material was fun too, and so much easier and quicker than I thought it would be:
The little grapes turned out pretty cute too, despite being a bit more purple than real ones 🙂
All in all, definitely another cake success! Looking forward to my next cake challenge, whatever that might be 🙂
